You’ll be transferred to Chanya Lodge, a cozy and charming lodge nestled at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro in Moshi town. Surrounded by lush gardens and the scents of tropical flora, the lodge offers the perfect place to unwind after your journey. DAY 2: COFFEE TOUR & MATERUNI WATERFALL

Enjoy a delicious breakfast with locally sourced ingredients. Spend the morning relaxing at the lodge or enjoying a swim.

In the afternoon, head out for a guided nature hike to Materuni Waterfall, a hidden gem surrounded by lush rainforest. The waterfall plunges nearly 90 meters and is one of the tallest and most beautiful in the region. Take a refreshing dip in its cool mountain waters.

Later, visit a Chagga coffee farm nestled on the verdant slopes of Kilimanjaro. Participate in the entire process — from bean to cup — with storytelling, singing, and roasting led by your Chagga hosts. You’ll finish by tasting freshly brewed organic Arabica coffee.

DAY 3: MOSHI – TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK

After an early breakfast, journey southwest through Maasai country to Tarangire National Park. Known for its iconic baobab trees, savanna landscapes, and massive elephant herds, this park offers incredible biodiversity.

Your game drive will bring you up close to zebras, giraffes, wildebeest, buffalo, lions, and possibly even a leopard or cheetah. Tarangire is a paradise for bird lovers with over 500 species recorded.

📍 Overnight: Burunge Tented Lodge – Overlooking Lake Burunge, this eco-lodge offers incredible views and a peaceful bush setting.

DAY 4: TARANGIRE – LAKE NATRON

After breakfast, drive northward through the Rift Valley, passing through Mto wa Mbu, a colorful multicultural town, then follow a scenic off-road trail skirting the Great Rift Escarpment.

Arrive at Lake Natron, a surreal alkaline lake known for its shimmering red-pink waters, shaped by volcanic ash and salt. This desolate beauty is the breeding ground for over 2 million flamingos.

Check into Maasai Giraffe Eco Lodge, an oasis in the wilderness. In the afternoon, hike through Engaresero Gorge to reach a refreshing waterfall for a dip.

DAY 5: LAKE NATRON – WILDLIFE, FLAMINGOS & MAASAI EXPERIENCE

Explore the eastern shores of Lake Natron, where thousands of lesser flamingos gather. The landscape is stark and otherworldly — ideal for photographers and nature lovers.

Visit the prehistoric footprints site, where fossilized human tracks dating back 19,000 years offer insight into ancient African life.

Later, join the Maasai community for a traditional experience:

Learn spear-throwing, milking cows, and making fire

Witness the ceremonial goat sacrifice (optional to view), a traditional rite of passage

End with an enchanting Maasai dance and BBQ under the stars

DAY 6: RELAXATION AT LAKE NATRON

A day to unwind and absorb the rhythm of Maasai life. Relax by the pool or under the big safari tent with panoramic views of the savanna and volcanic hills.

You can visit the Maasai women’s market, where handmade jewelry and crafts are sold, supporting local families.

In the evening, enjoy a quiet aperitif as the sun sets behind the distant mountains.

DAY 7: LAKE NATRON – NORTHERN SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK

After an early breakfast, drive north and enter the legendary Serengeti National Park via Klein’s Gate. This remote northern region is less crowded and rich in game, especially during migration season.

Enjoy a picnic lunch as your guide processes park entry. Begin your first game drive, spotting lions lounging on kopjes (rocky outcrops), giraffes grazing on acacia trees, and possibly the Big Five.

DAY 8: SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK & MIGRATION MUSEUM

A full day in the central Serengeti, home to the densest concentration of predators in Africa.

Visit the Seronera Migration Museum, an open-air interpretive center explaining the epic journey of wildebeest and zebras during the Great Migration.

Game drives focus on finding cheetahs, hyenas, lions, elephants, and elusive leopards.

DAY 9: NGORONGORO CRATER – THE AFRICAN EDEN

Depart early to descend into the Ngorongoro Crater, often called the “Eighth Wonder of the World.” This massive, intact caldera spans 326 km² and is home to nearly 25,000 animals, including black rhinos, lions, buffalo, hippos, and flamingos.

Enjoy a picnic lunch at the Hippo Pool, surrounded by acacia trees and wildlife all around.

Evening drive up to Rhino Lodge, located on the crater rim, offering panoramic views and a chance to spot bushbucks and elephants wandering near the rooms.

Day 3 – Tarangire National Park Safari

Day 4 – Tarangire to Lake Natron

  • Route: Scenic drive via Mto wa Mbu and Rift Valley toward Lake Natron, passing volcanoes and wildlife-rich savanna.

  • Experience: Picnic lunch, optional gorge walk and natural swimming at Engaresero waterfall. Watch giraffes and zebras near your lodge oasis.

Day 5 – Explore Lake Natron & Maasai Culture

  • Morning: Walk along the eastern shore of Lake Natron—spot thousands of flamingos, flaming red bacteria blooms, and a natural hot spring pool.

Day 7 – Lake Natron → Serengeti (via Klein’s Gate)

  • Departure: Set off at ~6 AM for Serengeti National Park, entering through Klein’s Gate.
